Definition: A behavorist does not use operant conditioning, food or punative methods. They’re concerned only with the way in which the dog thinks and acts vs what the body is physically doing. If a dog bites, it is not the mouth that is doing the action but rather the brain telling the dog’s mouth to bite. A reputable behavorist is much like a psychologist for humans, and is not concernced with a dog’s physical body position but rather with his / her state of mind.
