Dr. Renee Alsarraf graduated from Michigan State University’s Veterinary School in 1991. While she was a student there, she established the University’s Pet Loss Support Group, helping bereaved pet owners. Following graduation, Dr. Alsarraf completed a one year rotating internship, research studies, oncology residency and additional radiation therapy training at the Animal Medical Center in NYC. Dr. Alsarraf participated in tissue culture work at Memorial Sloan Kettering and has received additional radiation training in radiation therapy at the University of Kansas. Dr. Alsarraf has authored several journal articles and oncology texts and has participated in many clinical studies in conjunction with Cornell University. She lectures, both locally and nationally. Dr. Alsarraf has competed in obedience trials with her boxers, volunteered for handicapped children to ride horseback, visited nursing homes with therapy dogs and has done an extensive amount of community service work.
